On a Sunday evening around ten thirty PM, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a nine one one call regarding a possible child molestation incident. An adult female witness had discovered Kendra Lee Proctor sitting on top of a one-year-old baby's face while undressed from the waist down.
According to police reports, the witness found Proctor naked from the waist down, positioned on the child's face while covering the baby's mouth with her hand. The witness reported the baby was screaming bloody murder during the incident. Upon discovering the scene, the adult witness physically confronted Proctor, stating she beat the expletive out of her.
Following her arrest, Proctor provided statements to authorities during a post-Miranda interview. She confessed that she intended to sacrifice the child by sitting on her face. Proctor told investigators this is what I'm supposed to do and thought this is what you wanted me to do. She allegedly admitted the act was sexually motivated and expressed hope of making monetary gain from it.
Police reports indicate Proctor had been acting strangely earlier that evening after watching what she described as a Godly movie and asking unusual questions. Authorities suspected Proctor was schizophrenic based on her behavior and incoherent speech during questioning.
In additional statements to police, Proctor admitted to attempting to kill the child because she believed it would lead to the adult witness killing her. She was arrested Sunday evening and is currently being held without bond on attempted murder charges.
The condition of the one-year-old victim was not disclosed in available reports.
