TEXAS MAN ARRESTED AFTER POURING CHEMICAL ON GRANDMOTHERS FACE

Welcome to Arrest Stories. A thirty-six-year-old Texas man was arrested after allegedly throwing chemicals on his grandmother's face during a family disturbance. Here's what may have happened.

On September sixteenth, Wood County Sheriff's deputies responded to a home on Farm to Market Road twenty-two twenty-five in Quitman, Texas, where a woman had been assaulted. According to the arrest affidavit, the victim awoke to the sound of a relative calling for help on the front porch.

The victim went to her porch after hearing her daughter yelling for her. As she walked off her porch, the victim saw Brandon Irving Nichols coming into her yard and running toward her. Nichols then allegedly poured an unknown chemical substance onto the victim's face, hair and clothing.

The victim described the substance as glue-like, sticky and painful. The chemicals caused the victim's eyelashes to stick together and impaired her vision according to the affidavit. After the alleged attack, Nichols ran off into the woods.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. Deputies later located and arrested Brandon Irving Nichols in connection with the incident.

Nichols was charged with injury to an elderly individual, a third-degree felony under Texas law. The charge specifically relates to injury to a child, elderly or disabled individual. Court records show bond was set at one hundred thousand dollars.

The arrest affidavit details how the chemical attack temporarily affected the elderly victim's ability to see clearly. The substance Nichols allegedly used was described by the victim as having properties similar to glue that caused significant discomfort and vision problems.

Nichols remains in custody at the Wood County Jail. The case highlights the serious nature of family violence cases involving vulnerable victims under Texas statutes.
