Welcome to Arrest Stories. A twenty-two-year-old New Hampshire man was arrested on August twenty-eighth after allegedly threatening Governor Kelly Ayotte with a weapon of mass destruction while making antisemitic statements via Snapchat. Here's what may have happened.
According to police reports, Tristan Anderson of West River Road in Hooksett sent a series of disturbing messages to his female roommate in mid-August. The messages allegedly included threats against the governor, with Anderson writing "I'm going to target the NH Mayor Kelly ayott. With my weapon of mass destruction." The messages also contained antisemitic rhetoric, including statements like "These jew feds need to f------ die" and rants about what he called the "Israel Deep State."
The situation escalated when Anderson allegedly showed his roommate metal tubes he claimed to be using for making pipe bombs, along with nuts and bolts intended as shrapnel. Police say Anderson had been purchasing fireworks and dismantling them to extract explosive materials for his alleged bomb-making activities.
Concerned for public safety, the roommate shared screenshots of the threatening messages with her former boyfriend, who then contacted Pembroke police. The roommate reportedly told investigators that Anderson had access to both firearms and bomb-making materials, and that he had been actively discussing his plans to create pipe bombs.
Authorities believe Anderson was moving beyond mere threats, with officials stating he "was actively trying to realize and bring about the threats that he was making about Governor Ayotte." The investigation revealed a pattern of escalating behavior that prompted swift law enforcement action.
Anderson was taken into custody on August twenty-eighth and is currently being held without bail. He faces charges related to threatening public officials and potential weapons violations. A dispositional conference is scheduled for November twentieth.
