Welcome to Arrest Stories. A twenty-six-year-old woman was arrested in Brewton, Alabama after allegedly bringing marijuana-laced candy bags to a kindergarten Christmas party. Here's what may have happened.
On December eighteenth, twenty twenty-four, Karima Frasier brought numerous bags of candy to a kindergarten classroom at Brewton Elementary School for a Christmas party. The clear bags contained a variety of candy, but police say they also contained marijuana shake mixed inside.
During the holiday event, the candy bags were distributed to children in the kindergarten class. After the party ended, a parent made a disturbing discovery while examining their child's candy bag at home. The parent found what appeared to be marijuana remnants inside the bag and immediately called school officials.
School administrators quickly notified Brewton police about the incident. Officers responded and began investigating the situation. Police gathered four separate candy bags that contained suspected marijuana residue mixed with wrapped candy inside the bags.
Brewton Police Chief Matt Jordan confirmed that Frasier was arrested the next day on December nineteenth and charged with distribution of a controlled substance to a minor and chemical endangerment of a child. Her bond was set at three hundred thousand dollars.
Police officials worked with school administrators to notify all parents about the incident to prevent any possible ingestion of the illicit substance. The swift response aimed to ensure no children consumed the contaminated candy.
Brewton City Schools Superintendent Kevin Wiessman expressed relief about the outcome of the incident. He stated he is thankful the students involved are safe and praised the quick police response to the situation.
The investigation revealed that Frasier had brought the marijuana-containing candy bags specifically for the kindergarten Christmas celebration, putting multiple young children at risk of exposure to controlled substances during what should have been a festive holiday event.
