FLORIDA MAN ROBS MEAT MARKET WEARING ONLY A FACE MASK

Welcome to Arrest Stories. A twenty-four-year-old man was arrested in Lake City, Florida after allegedly robbing a meat market while completely nude except for a face covering. Here's what may have happened.

On December twenty-third around eight fifty p.m., Kobe Latrey Watkins allegedly entered BJ's Meat Market completely naked except for a covering over his face. According to police reports, employees observed Watkins carrying a piece of cloth wrapped around an object in his hand that they believed was a weapon.

Security cameras captured Watkins as he broke into a cash box inside the store and took more than one thousand dollars. After grabbing the money, Watkins fled the scene on foot.

Lake City Police Department officers arrived at the meat market shortly after receiving reports of the robbery. Officers immediately began gathering witness statements from store employees who described the unusual circumstances of the theft. A description of the suspect and his direction of travel were disseminated to responding units.

Police established a perimeter in the area to locate the fleeing suspect. Working with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, officers began searching the surrounding neighborhood. During their investigation, police recovered evidence along Watkins' suspected route of travel, including clothing items and other property believed to be connected to the incident.

A short time later, law enforcement successfully located and arrested Watkins. He was taken into custody and faces charges including exposure of sexual organs, grand theft, and criminal mischief.

A police spokesperson commented on the incident, stating, "Incidents like this are unsettling, but our officers responded quickly, secured the scene, and worked with our partners to identify and arrest the suspect." The spokesperson added, "We appreciate the swift assistance from the Columbia County Sheriff's Office and the cooperation from the business employees that helped bring this to a safe resolution."

The investigation into the robbery remains ongoing as authorities continue to process evidence collected from the scene and along the suspect's suspected escape route.
