Welcome to Arrest Stories. A twenty-one-year-old valet attendant at Disney World's Animal Kingdom Lodge has been arrested on charges of grand theft by fraud and forgery after allegedly stealing a guest's checkbook and cashing nearly thirteen hundred dollars in fraudulent checks. Here's what may have happened.
On November twenty-ninth, a woman from Ohio arrived at Disney's Kidani Village in Orange County, Florida, and valet-parked her vehicle at the resort. Mason Reid Henrichsen was working as a third-party valet attendant for Towne Park, a company contracted with Disney, when the alleged theft occurred.
The victim later discovered her checkbook was missing from her vehicle with no signs of forced entry. Four fraudulent checks were subsequently written in various amounts including two hundred fifty dollars, six hundred seventy dollars, ninety-eight dollars, and two hundred thirty dollars. All checks were made out to Henrichsen himself, totaling approximately twelve hundred forty-eight dollars.
On December third, the victim called the Orange County Sheriff's Office after her bank alerted her to suspicious transactions. She provided authorities with screenshots of multiple checks written out to Henrichsen's name.
Officers used the Driver and Vehicle Information Database to pull Henrichsen's information and located him for questioning. When detectives spoke with Henrichsen on December third, he admitted to finding and depositing a check. According to police reports, Henrichsen told officers he "found a check on the parking lot ground" and "decided to write it out to himself" for eighty-eight dollars initially. He said he deposited the check via an ATM at a Chase Bank near Disney Springs.
Towne Park released a statement saying, "The actions of this individual are not consistent with our business conduct policy or values. We are cooperating with authorities, launched an internal investigation, and this individual is no longer employed by the company."
Henrichsen was arrested and charged with grand theft by fraud and forgery of a check.
All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
